Solarflare
8 projects, 4 years, world-class brands.
A continuing delivery partnership
Eight projects over four years have taken our partnership with Solarflare across immersive worlds and physical installations. End clients include ASICS, MOL Group, Hennessy, Legoland, Formula 1 and Ford. Below are six of the eight projects we have completed for Solarflare.
MOL: Future is Now — Robotic AR
For Solarflare, we built an interactive installation that lets visitors explore the sustainable features of MOL Campus through body tracking, a robotic arm and augmented reality. Pulse Group provided creative direction.
We recreated the installation in our office to refine the controls with users. A bespoke tracking algorithm kept following the intended participant as others moved nearby. Performance engineering, setup tools and documentation supported a responsive experience, delivered in September 2022.
MOL: Energy Fuelled Transformation
At the MOL Campus in Budapest, MOL Group wanted to make its clean-energy ambitions visible and tangible. Working with Solarflare Studio and Pulse Group, we created a multi-user, multi-touch installation around its 2030+ strategy.
Visual prototypes and in-person testing shaped a wave-like artwork, with a CMS managing its content. Custom editor tools blended it with MOL’s branded particle videos, while performance engineering kept tens of thousands of points moving at 60 frames per second. The installation launched in September 2022, supported by on-site setup and maintenance.
ASICS Virtual Innovation Summit
With its 2021 Innovation Summit moving online, ASICS wanted an experience that made personalisation tangible. Working with Solarflare, we built an immersive virtual world that responded to each visitor’s heartbeat.
Heart-rate monitors connected visitors to personalised environments. Solarflare supplied the 3D assets, animations and shaders; we handled development, testing, deployment and technical coordination. Regular builds and daily stand-ups supported delivery in three months. The summit became our first project in a continuing partnership with Solarflare.
Ford Mustang Mach-E
For Solarflare, we worked on a personalised WebAR experience for the Mustang Mach-E European launch, created with Imagination. Visitors could see their name on the car, explore different colours and discover vehicle features through their phone’s browser, without downloading an app.
LEGO Friends at LEGOLAND
We worked with Solarflare on interactive LEGO Friends experiences for LEGOLAND resorts, created with Wasserman for the new character launch. Large touchscreens let children and families meet the characters through hands-on play, bringing the digital experience into the theme park.
ASICS Mind Uplifter
We developed ASICS Mind Uplifter with Solarflare, part of a project created with Edelman. The browser-based tool lets people assess how they feel before and after exercise, then visualises the change across ten mental and emotional measures. Three.js and WebGL bring the personal results to life in an animated experience that works on mobile.
